My everyday summer look

I wore this look the other day to work and loved it so i decided to recreate it so that i could share the steps with everyone. This look is very light VERY easy and most importantly quick. During the summer i go to work at 7, 25 minutes away, so im always on a time crunch. Enjoy :)

Green Lantern Date Night

so my boyfriend is OBSESSED with Green Lantern and has been waiting for the movie for years(before it was probably thought of). And finally it came out yesterday so naturally we had to go. So i though that since i tried the beauty post last time, i would do another with actual pics of how i looked. So here it goes, I like the smoky look, i think it looks best with my face and features, and because i have glasses i try to play up my eyes instead of other parts of m face.

Something Different

alright, so i am not just all about photography, i also am interested in makeup, nothing hardcore but i do think its fun to add special touches to your most viewed feature. So im going to try something a little different, and do a beauty post. So here goes,

Just this past weekend i took my mom to Ulta for the first time and on our way out i noticed a sign that said "Buy 2 get 2" on Ulta products. So i checked out some of their gel liners. Now i do have Stila's smudge pot, but these were way cheaper so i wanted to try. So unfortunatly my packages werent flawless when i purchased them, but i dealed.

ok so i really liked the colors when i swatched but when i apply then to my eye the brown blue and purple kinda look the same, i am currently working on fixing this problem. i also have a problem with them being liquidy when i use them, i do live in a very hot place so i put them somewhere cool, but my stila gel liner works just fine and it is in the same place..mystery.

update on the Studio

ok so a while ago i promised a picture of my portable studio, well it worked so well the first time I was asked to work another party last night. This time the kids were a few years younger and were alot more into the idea of taking fun pictures together. So here are some of my favorite pics from the last 2 parties,

Portable studio

Ok so im in creative mode right now, one of my crazy ideas includes building my own portable studio. Now im not talking about a studio for merchandise, rather, for people :). Now im super excited about this because while i was in my dorm room last year i was using the structures already in place, as well as hair clips and ducktape. Now there is nothing wrong with those things, they let me have my foundation that i have now. However now i do not have those things so im building a new one. This one is going to be nearly 7 ft tall and 6 ft wide and made out of pvc piping. the reason im doing this now is because im taking pictures for a party saturday and i would really like to have this done by then so i can try it out. so here is what my old setup was....

i will DEFINITELY upload a picture of my creation and hopefully some pics from it.

im seriously looking forward to this :D

My Camera

ok so since im kinda in a blogging mood i thought i would let you guys out there see the camera that i use to take all of my photos. Its not really anything extremely fancy however it is more than a basic point and shoot.
ok so there it is, it is a Sony Cybershot HX1, ive had it for about a year now and i love it, the display is swivel capable and it also include the Panoramic sweep function. Lots of trial and error has done me well and im not done yet. :)

Life as we know it

So alot has happened since i was last on here, I believe the last time i wrote i had just gotten back from a wonderful vacation in California with my family. Its always been hard being away from my family, especially when i go back and see just how close they are, and just how close they are with out me. Most of the time i can keep it together while I'm there but when loneliness hits from missing my beloved boyfriend, i crack. He has heard me talk about how i have cousins that didn't know my name or my face until they were 6 years old and how the day we get married no one will come. My hopes and dreams for my future family is that we can be as close as my family in California. I want my kids to know the people that i call family and let them know that even if you aren't with your family at all times it doesn't mean they don't love you and think about you just as much as you do them. At work there is a family of two sisters whose kids are very close in age and attend the same school, every once in a while one of the sister will pick up the other ones kids out of convenience and love for the kids. i want to be like them, even though my brother my not be picking up my future kids anytime soon its still a hope that i wish to keep alive in my heart.

UPDATE long overdue

so the past year of my life has been sooo hectic, but its also been good in many ways.

Sadly because i am out of a dorm i dont get to do photography as often as i would hope. however that doesnt mean that i havent had some good times. I kept my job from the summer and now work at a brand new school that is gorgeous inside and out. My kids are great, all 10 of them :) im pretty sure im going to keep elementary education as my career path, being a teacher is just like being a role model, you get instant gratification when you help them do something like use the monkey bars or swing on their own. Of course i have my bad kids, and they are all loud and energetic but what 6 year old isnt. well i have had sometime to do a little picture taking and i wanted to share some of those images with you..now they are the raw images (my brother hasnt loaded photoshop since i last wiped my computer) but i think you can appreciate them just the same. so enjoy :)

Sooo, this is my newest shoot, it was lots of fun, however it was SUPER hot and humid!! The location is in my college town and its this park that i had wanted to visit. It turned out to have some potential as a backdrop so we got to working. these 2 girls are sp great to work with! They are the 2 girls that i really became friends with when i was at school and i spent countless hours with them. Im on a boat?

ok, so i apoligize for the slightly cheese title, but really i was on a boat. Summer has been great, work has consumed my life, but luckily i have a week off to enjoy, of course its half over but ive enjoyed ever bit of it. Tomorrow i havve a shoot with some friends from school that i wont be seeing for a while, ugh long story, possibly a different post. but anyways its going to be lots of fun. These 2 girls have a small cake business out of their apartment, so im going to act almost as advertisement, which is great. I also have 2 more clients to look forward to in the later months, and hopefully more to come. I am also in the process of looking for models to grow my portfolio, which i am excited about!
I apoligize for not posting on time as i said, however im just working with what i have so bear with me :).

A little inspiration

HAPPY JULY!
so im really trying to keep up with this, ive been suuuper stressed with my fall semester college plans, ( too long of a story to elaborate), however i do have 2 opportunities to get some pictures taken, which im excited about! The fourth of july was a great chance for me to try firework photography, which is like way hard! I did get lucky with a few decent shots but i want to get like a gagillion times better.
I believe ive given links to my different websites that you can reach me on, so i want to ask for each one of you out there to help me out, and give me a little inspiration or advice. Send me an image that you would like to see done in my own way, or a cool style that you are really interested in. Photography to me is not just about personal satisfaction, it is about inspiring peers, and letting them experience scenes that can not otherwise be expressed. I want to grow sooo much in this field, and cant do it without your help :).

So today is the eve of my first full day of work. Its a shocker to me because i thought i had one more week to relax and get ready. Im still doing to the summer school job, however not as a photographer, with budget cuts i can no longer make a yearbook for them due to the costs, so i was hired as a kindergarden teacher...so i thought. i got a phone call this morning saying that i needed to show up at my designated school to get our class rooms together, there i found out i will have 3rd through 8th graders, 25+ by myself for 6 hours...im so nervous!! in my second interview i had told the lead guy that i did not want the older kids, but of course thats what i got. Tomorrow will have a story to tell im sure.
Anyways..to the picture! this is from yesterday, it was the anual memorial day run, so therefore i see this pic as appropriate. So tell me what you think, ill be posting on Deviant Art as well.

SUMMER!

Summer has begun!!
i love summer, but the pressures of finding a job in time is something i dread every year. This year was worse than ever as i was woken up the first day of my summer at 630 am, and everyday since I've applied for about 25 jobs in only 1 1/2 weeks, only 1 job has called back. I was referred to this one job by my dad and an old coworker, if i get the job...of which i think i got it...i will be creating a yearbook/scrapbook for a Huntsville City School Summer program. I am very excited that i get to go back to what i started my photography with. Kids are not my strength, however, i will be photographer most of the time. The job wont start until June 7 which is 2 weeks to far away. A plus is that its full time weekdays only all the way through July 30th with work afterwards to finish the book. Hopefully my position will be declared within the next few days and i will be guaranteed this job with 2 weeks of summer until then.
With summer here i shall try to update more often..im trying to find ways to practice my photography more often while im here so look out for that on Deiviant Art, and here of course.

Summer is almost here!

So, Friday marked the first day of finals, my first year in college is only going to lat 3 more days, its so hard to believe. Times have been rough, troubles at home and at school keep me on my toes and constantly re-evaluating who i trust. This also marked the first year that i have had more girl friends than guys in a very long time. I'm so used to the layed back, sometimes oddly perverted, ways of guys. They are so much easier to deal with..when something goes wrong either you beat it out, talk to them or blink 10 times and the issue is gone. Girls are so much more complicated! if something goes wrong you have to sensor what you want to say otherwise it might turn for the worse. Time apart from each other lasts so much longer than a guy. But i just have to realize why I've chosen not to be friends with manly guys, Dante. He is my one guy, my best friend, and the love of my life. Having all these girl friends make me appreciate even more everyday that he is a guy and is moderately carefree when it comes to complications outside of our relationship.
So this brings me to my wonderful first day of final :D After my exam i went with a friend to the lake. It was my first time at a lake and i was sooooo excited. Where we went was absolutly beautiful! the sun was out, wind was going and the water wasnt to bad either. so after lathering up with sunscreen and whiping out my target brand Cheese-its i soaked up the warm rays and just relaxed. After a while i couldnt resist taking the camera out to caputure the memory..so here it is. my day, Cheese-its + Sunscreen+ amazingly beautiful lake= wonderfully relaxed and happy jasmine :).

Ashley

This is my lovely Ashley :)
She is my brother's girlfriend of almost 4 years (pictures of them together will be posted later :) ). Since before they started dating Ashley and i have always been able to get along, she is fun, energetic, and easy loving. My brother and i are the only children my parents had so when Ashley popped into the picture it was perfect. She always wanted a sister and so did i. From that point on we can always have a good time together whether its grocery, makeup, or clothes shopping her happiness never fails.
So, over spring break i took some pictures for the happy couple, and some of her (her cuteness was irresistible). Each one of her individual shots showed her personality differently. All the way from calm and compassionate to bouncy and adorable.
